The Motion State Panel

Motion State ships with a companion panel for Premiere. The panel is where you browse and apply presets, save your own, and manage Motion State clips across a sequence. The effect itself does the animating — the panel makes it fast to set up and reuse.

The panel is installed automatically by the Motion State installer alongside the effect. You do not need to install it separately.

The panel requires Premiere 2025 version 25.6 or newer. The Motion State effect works on Premiere 2025 and newer, but the panel specifically needs 25.6+.

If you are on an older release, the effect still works — you just set states manually in Effect Controls instead of applying presets from the panel.

In Premiere, open:

Window > UXP Plugins > Motion State

The panel opens as a dockable window. Drag it into your workspace wherever you like, the same way you would dock any other Premiere panel.

If Motion State does not appear under UXP Plugins, see Troubleshooting.

The panel has two tabs at the top:

  • Presets — browse the built-in preset library (105 presets), organize your own presets into collections, and apply a preset to the selected clip with one click. See Using Presets.
  • Manage — a per-clip cockpit with clip actions, a live looping preview, copy/paste between clips, batch updates across a sequence, and a full A/B parameter editor. See Manage Clips.

The menu button () holds Import, Export, Restore factory presets, Autoplay all previews, License, About, Submit Feedback, and a link back to these docs.

Two items sit to the left of the menu:

  • Not activated — a badge shown only when this computer is unlicensed. Click it to paste your license key and activate, without applying the effect to a clip first. It disappears once you activate. See Installation and Activation.
  • Bell — what’s new in each Motion State release. A dot appears when there is something you have not read yet.

The panel works the same whether or not Motion State is activated — you can browse, apply, and save presets either way. Until you activate, the renders themselves carry the Motion State watermark. The one exception is Bake to Native Effects, which needs an activated license.

When a newer version of Motion State is available, a banner appears at the bottom of the panel. Click it to open your Lemon Squeezy order page and download the update.
